Slingshot Portal Overview

Welcome to the Slingshot Portal — your gateway to space domain awareness, data access, and operational insights. This guide will help you quickly understand what’s available, where to go, and how to get started.

What is the Slingshot Portal?

The Slingshot Portal brings together mission monitoring, data analysis, alerts, and operational tools into one unified experience.

From here, you can:

  • Monitor spacecraft and missions

  • Query and analyze space data

  • Submit tracking and data requests

  • Access APIs and developer tools

  • Stay informed on space activity


Understanding the Landing Page

When you log in, you’ll land on the Main view.

The landing page gives you a real-time snapshot of:

  • Alerts

  • Data requests

  • Plan details

  • Available credits

  • Recent activity


Top Navigation

At the top of the page, you’ll see the main navigation and workspace selector.

  • Main / Operations / Analysis / Developer workspace dropdown

  • Settings icon

  • Workspace tools

Navigation Areas

  • Main Workspace– Overview (default view)

  • Operations Workspace– Monitor missions and alerts

  • Analysis Workspace– Query and analyze satellite data

  • Developer Workspace – Access APIs and integration tools


Account Summary Cards

At the top of the page, you’ll see summary cards for:

  • Recent Alerts – Number of active alerts

  • Data Requests – Total submitted requests

  • Plan – Your subscription tier

  • Credits Remaining – Available SPU credits

These give you instant visibility into your account status.


Workspaces

The Workspaces section provides quick access to the portal’s primary workflows.

You’ll see three primary modules:

  • Operations – Monitor missions and track real-time alerts

  • Analysis – Query data and analyze satellite trends

  • Developer– Access APIs and integrate with services

Click any card to move directly into that workflow.


Quick Actions

The Quick Actions panel gives you one-click access to common tasks.

Available actions may include:

  • Discover & Access Data

  • Explore with Slingshot AI

  • Request Data

  • Analyze Anomalies

  • Visualize Orbits

  • View Network Metrics

Use Quick Actions when you know exactly what you want to do.


Recent Activity

On the right side of the view, you’ll see the Recent Activity panel.

This panel keeps you informed across four tabs:

  • Alerts

  • List

  • Orders

  • News

Alerts Tab

The Alerts tab shows:

  • Anomaly detections

  • Launch events

  • Conjunction warnings

  • Signal loss notifications

List Tab

The List tab displays monitored spacecraft or tracked objects, including:

  • NORAD ID

  • Orbit classification

  • Status (Active, Warning, Critical)

Orders Tab

The Requests tab tracks submitted data and tasking requests, including:

  • Progress percentage

  • Status (Approved, Processing, Completed)

  • Delivery state

News Tab

The News tab surfaces relevant space activity and industry updates.

Examples:

  • Launch announcements

  • Mission updates

  • Industry developments


Getting Started

If you’re new to the Portal, here are recommended first steps:

  1. Review your Recent Alerts

  2. Explore the Analysis module

  3. Use Discover & Access Data to run your first query

  4. Check your available SPU credits

  5. Set up monitoring for key spacecraft


Tips for New Users

  • Use Quick Actions to jump directly into workflows

  • Monitor the Recent Activity panel for real-time updates

  • Track your usage through the Credits Remaining card

  • Switch between Main, Operations, Analysis, and Development based on your goal
