Release Notes 1.0

Updated this week

Highlights

A more connected Portal experience

Portal now brings multiple Slingshot capabilities into one environment so users can move more easily between discovery, investigation, data access, and operational workflows.

You can now move across:

  • Contextual space data

  • Orbital and tracking data

  • Anomaly investigation

  • Data requests and order management

  • Developer documentation and APIs

  • AI-assisted exploration

Discover and access data in one place

The new data discovery experience helps you browse and search across space objects more easily.

You can now use:

  • Keyword search

  • Natural language search

  • Query builder

  • Saved queries

This makes it easier to find spacecraft, investigate objects of interest, and move from search into full object details.

Contextual data powered by Seradata

Portal now includes access to contextual space intelligence powered by Seradata.

Users can explore:

  • Spacecraft details

  • Launch context

  • Mission and operator information

  • Technical and historical metadata

  • Organizations, buses, and related reference data

This helps teams move from โ€œwhat is this object?โ€ to a richer understanding of why it matters.

Orbital and tracking data access Powered by Slingshot's Global Sensor Network

Portal expands access to orbital and tracking workflows, including object catalog and tracking-oriented experiences.

Users can now better connect object discovery with:

  • Orbital state data

  • Tracking information

  • 3D orbital views

  • Follow-on data access workflows

New anomaly detection experience powered by Agatha

Portal now introduces its AI anomaly detection analytics as part of the broader product experience.

This experience helps users investigate whether an object may be behaving out of expected patterns by surfacing analytic views around:

  • Orbital behavior

  • Brightness behavior

  • Proximity and neighborhood behavior

  • Object distinctiveness over time

This is the first visible step in a broader processing, fustion and analytic experiences that will continue to expand in upcoming releases.

Digital Space Twin integration

Users can now move from object discovery and investigation into a 3D operational view through Digital Space Twin.

This helps teams:

  • Visualize objects in orbit

  • Inspect spatial relationships

  • Place investigation into operational context

  • Move from records and charts into mission-relevant visualization

Marketplace and data requests

Portal now makes it easier to request, manage, and retrieve Space data.

Users can:

  • Order available data

  • Review request status

  • Download available files

  • Track ongoing orders

  • Access both Portal and API-oriented workflows

This improves the path from discovering an object to actually retrieving the data needed for analysis or operations.

Developer Suite and API access

The new Developer Suite helps technical users and integrators work directly with Slingshot APIs.

Users can now access:

  • API documentation

  • Endpoint references

  • Workflow examples

  • Contextual data APIs

  • Object catalog APIs

  • Marketplace APIs

  • MCP preview materials

This supports teams building their own applications, pipelines, and integrations on top of Slingshot data and services.

AI Assistant

Portal now includes Slingshot AI, a conversational entry point that helps users start with their question instead of needing to know exactly which tool to use first.

Available focus areas include:

  • Contextual Database

  • Orbital Database

  • Anomaly Detection

  • Help Desk Support

This helps users explore the platform more naturally and connect to the right workflow faster.

What this means for users

This release is designed to make it easier to move across common workflows such as:

  • Understanding a space object

  • Checking its orbit or tracking status

  • Investigating unusual behavior

  • Requesting historical or ongoing data

  • Accessing APIs for integration

  • Moving from insight to action without switching tools

Notes

Some features and workflows will continue to evolve as Portal expands. Certain advanced analytics, processing, and integration capabilities are being introduced in stages as part of the broader platform roadmap.

Need help?

If you need help getting started, use:

  • Help Desk Support in Slingshot AI

  • the Developer Suite for API and integration guidance

  • support resources available in Portal
