Slingshot defaults to our Global Sensor Network (GSN) when sourcing data for customer requests so we can provide the latest available Slingshot-supported data.
In some cases, a request may not be fully supported by GSN data alone. When that happens, we may supplement the request with trusted external sources, such as Space-Track, to help complete the order and provide the best available data package.
The charge for a data request reflects the work required to source, prepare, package, and deliver the data. At this time, we do not discount requests when external data is used to supplement Slingshot data.

As our product evolves, we plan to give users more flexibility to choose which data sources they want to use, including Slingshot data, public sources, customer-provided data, and approved partner data where available.
